MADISON MAGAZINE AUGUST 2009

Madison Magazine have featured our new Hamptons Style showroom in their August 2009 edition. Thank you to Editor, Paula Joye and Art Director, Lindy Goodwin for such a sweet inclusion. Having worked with Cameron Diaz a few years ago in Los Angeles we could not have chose a more fitting issue for us to appear in!!
We are finally ready to unveil our new Woollahra showroom pics for you below, we hope to see you for a visit sometime in the future or hear your comments online. Driving down Moncur street on a gorgeous summer day in February we noticed the building that was home to wedding designers Baccini & Hill for over 7 years was now available. Within 48hrs it was officially our new home. SugarLove Weddings & White Designs were moving in on May 1st!! We spent 2months undertaking extensive renovations to turn the building into our dream showroom complete with an exterior bottle green paint finish with cream trim and custom black canvas capola awning. The gorgeous green aged trees on John Street and addition of 2 Olive trees in rattan baskets finished off the entrance just perfectly. An endless line of "Thank You's must go to our incredible Interior Designer & Stylist, Nellie Tilley. Nellie designed our Palm Beach showroom in 2007 and was the perfect choice to carry our clean, simple Hampton's inspired theme through the main showroom in Woollahra.
In her words; Woollahra has very strong, individual look. Palm Beach is casual and relaxed yet polished and classic. Woollahra is sophisticated elegance, that is neither intimidating or OTT, but rather inviting and eye-catching. The “grown up” version of Palm Beach! This is our Moncur Street window featuring the SugarLove & White signage. Inside several framed prints are surrounded by an elegant blend of antique artifacts displayed on a gorgeous French Avignon Oak Table. Our custom designed hand made joinery finished in China White is the main focus of the SugarLove showroom. Filled with hand woven cane baskets, antique porcelain and a variety of sterling silver frames with stunning SugarLove photography, the overall feeling is warm and homely...reminiscent of SugarLove's renowned client approach. Styled with white shells & coral, black linen album boxes, wooden bowls and the hand chosen signature coffee table books of Preston Bailey, Martha Stewart and Colin Cowie, inspiration is everywhere. Natural light from two large windows on Moncur & John street warms the space. A visual display of SugarLove photography also appears in vintage frames throughout the showroom. Antique oriental porcelain ginger jars, sterling silver frames, a variety of shells & the karmic serenity of a buddha on black plinth complete a window display. Other showroom design choices included sheer french pleated linen curtains, parquetry floors stained japan black and the soft treatment of sisal herringbone seagrass matting. Two black Louis XV parlour chairs with rattan back were upholstered in "Bohemia Eclipse" and sit proudly beside the oak table. The main showroom from upstairs shows our custom made Hamptons Style armchairs in black luxembourg linen finished with contrast ivory piping, diamond buttoned ottomon with piping & valance in black/white ticking and our selection of stunning wedding albums, books and photos. Other key features include a Empire Crystal Chandelier and Provence Desk in Antique Black. Our 2nd level White Designs viewing floor has a Crystal Column Lamp with white linen shade and high backed desk chair with black/white ticking slip cover with ties. Our flowers are updated weekly by the wonderfully talented Fleur at Summers Floral Some of our favorite pieces that truly capture the essence of SugarLove & White style...simple, elegant and classic timeless pieces that last forever. Nautilus Shells & black fan coral add a touch of contrast and colour in burnt orange. Some favorite SugarLove moments sit proudly underneath. Vintage antique black double sided frame with gold gilt detail surround floating images between glass panels displaying two of our favorite weddings. Authentic Chinese Porcelain stools make the perfect guest side tables. Nearby the cynopsis orchid sits in bloom and our custom made bergere chairs with antique black finish are upholstered in a black/white grape & pomegranate print called "Batik Noir". We hope you are have enjoyed looking through our new Woollahra showroom in Sydney. It has been a 10year journey imagining what this space would look like, we would love to know what you think. Thank you to everyone who has designed, built, painted, drawn, photographed or filmed anything that has formed part of the final shop. You are the best, Leigh x

REAL WEDDING - HAYLEY & DAVID

Hard to believe that just over a year ago we were in the rainforest in Port Douglas to photograph and film the wedding of a very special couple - Hayley & David. Congratulations on your 1st wedding anniversary and thank you for choosing SugarLove Weddings & White Designs to cover your spectacular day in Queensland. Real Weddings Magazine ran a stunning 6 page story on Hayley & David's wedding in their 2008 edition. We are delighted to share the story of their day in further detail on our SugarLove blog. Hayley wore a dress by Helen Rodrigues. Handmade from the same material, an elegant floral hairpiece was designed to match. Hayley prepares for the ceremony with her Mum and Dad at the Peppers Bale Resort located in the beautiful town of Port Douglas. The couple were married at the picturesque St Mary's Church by the Sea. White roses adorned the pews, altar and aisle. A perfect winter day included sunlight streaming through the stained glass windows throughout the service. David and his groomsmen anxiously await the arrival of the bride. Hundreds of white petals were sewn together to make one large floral bouquet for the bride and each bridesmaid from Flowers 'n Lace. Bridemaid dresses were from The Oh Yes Shop. A light hearted moment is shared by the girls before Hayley & David lit a marriage candle to signify their coming together as a new family. Principal Photographer, Bradley Patrick chose the beach for the first half of the couples photo shoot with their bridal party closely followed by a drive through the cane fields enroute to the reception marquee to capture some timeless sunset moments. Guests were transported from the church to a marquee set deep in the QLD rainforest. The perfect location was situated on a green lawn bordered by a creek and surrounded by huge old trees which helped to create a magical atmosphere. On arrival guests were handed a refreshing cocktail and the fireworks started. Music was provided by the Russell Harris Group. After deciding on the black & white theme M.A.D Events in Port Douglas were chosen as the local event planner. Rouba Alamein from The Style Salon was hired from Sydney to help create the overall styling vision for the event which was nothing short of stunning. The couple had the most perfect moonlit night to celebrate with their closest friends and family. Tables were set with crisp white linen, crystal glasses and decorated with rose bowls, tea lights and candles. Hayley chose to add some personal touches with crystal perfume bottles filled with essential oils as the bonbonniere. The bridal table was positioned in the middle of the marquee and dressed with white French antique chairs with ruffled cushions. A chic private powder room was designed & styled by the Style Salon. White ottomans with black cushions, black drapes & gilded mirrors were just some of the accents added on the night. Sweet Lily Cakes designed a simple 3 tiered design complimented by white roses in full bloom. Platinum Cuisine looked after the reception catering for the evening. Hayley & David danced the night away to an eight piece band with enough memories to last a lifetime. Thank you for inviting us to share your day... All the team @ SugarLove & White xx
